The title of the Princeton-Mercer Regional Chamber’s annual community health symposium on May 9 is “Fitting the Mind: The Intersection of Nutrition and Mental Health.”
The event, held at Grounds for Sculpture in Trenton, is designed to provide attendees with valuable insights, lessons learned, and discussions about future trends in the healthcare industry. The event will also provide networking opportunities as business leaders, community representatives and health care providers from across the tri-state will attend.
Greg Paulson, CEO of Trenton Health Team, will be the keynote speaker. Paulson explores our evolving understanding of our relationship with food. His discussed topics include food access, food security, and misconceptions about food insecurity.
Following the keynote speaker’s presentation, Matt Miserette, NeuroFlow’s Vice President of Clinical Operations, will moderate a panel discussion about the emotional aspects of dietary choices and their impact on mental health.
The panel includes:
- Barbara Mintz, senior vice president of social impact and community investment at RWJBarnabas Health;
- Megan Moran, senior therapist at Penn Medicine Princeton Eating Disorders Center;
- Corinna Paragroot, Clinical Nutritionist at Capital Health Wellness Center.
As an additional component of this year’s symposium, the Chamber will partner with Mercer Street Friends to host a food drive. Symposium attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to provide essential support to individuals and families facing food insecurity in their communities.
