material: Contains L-ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, and vitamin E | combination: 15 percent vitamin C | packaging: Translucent amber bottle

SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic was described to me, a young beauty editor, as liquid gold. The one product you never let go of, abandoning everything else. Don’t worry about the smell of hot dog water. It simply meant that it was powerful and effective. Naturally, I was excited when I got my first bottle. And by the time I finished that bottle, I was hooked. This has been the gold standard for vitamin C serums for years, so much so that many formulas (some of which are on this list) mimic the ingredient list and pursue the same results. But nothing beats the original.

I’ve been using CE Ferulic for the past few years, and in that time my dark spots have faded and my skin has become brighter overall. There are benefits that are not always visible, but believe Oxidative stress protection etc. I don’t suffer from hyperpigmentation. And I’d like to think this (along with continued use of sunscreen) helps with that. It’s also incredibly lightweight. Other formulas I have used have sometimes reacted badly with other skin care products or pills, but this has never been the case. Yes, it’s pricey, but considering it contains ultra-stable vitamin C, it’s worth it. I’d rather spend nearly $200 on vitamin C that I know works than waste my money buying bulk vitamin C. – Expensive products that may not be up to the task. The vitamin C formula itself is patented, so no matter what other brands list their ingredients, it’s not the same. And dermatologists agree. Four of her consulted dermatologists recommended SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, calling it the gold standard vitamin C serum suitable for all skin types. “I think this is the best,” Howe says. According to him, it has a light, non-greasy feel while still “delivering the maximum amount of active ingredients to the skin.”

Its main active ingredient is L-ascorbic acid (which makes up 15% of this serum), which is stable and easily penetrates the skin despite its high concentration of pure vitamin C. Part of this serum’s patented formula contains a higher pH level than that of its competitors, which reduces the redness and sensitivity that lower pH serums can cause. means no. Dr. Julie Russak, founder of Russak Dermatology Group, says the serum “delivers vitamin C to the top layers of the skin without disrupting the skin’s protective barrier.”

No matter which vitamin C serum you choose, Howe recommends applying it in the morning. “This way, active vitamin C stores exist in the skin during the day, when UV rays are most intense,” he explains.
