PM Modi opens naturopathic hospital and Ayush center in Pune | PTI
Pune: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated a state-of-the-art naturopathic hospital in Pune’s Yewalewadi and inaugurated a new Ayush facility at the district hospital in Aundh. These medical facilities aim to promote overall health and provide specialized treatment options for non-communicable diseases.
The newly opened Naturopathic Hospital in Yewarewadi has a capacity of 250 beds and includes an academic hospital, research unit, yoga hall, residential and hostel buildings. The facility’s director, the National Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, highlighted its position as a premier yoga and naturopathy institute dedicated to developing evidence-based treatments for a variety of non-communicable diseases.
Focused on a holistic approach to health care, the center prioritizes addressing modifiable risk factors associated with these diseases through yoga and naturopathy interventions. By targeting these risk factors, the center aims to reduce the overall prevalence of non-communicable diseases and improve public health outcomes.
The facility will also offer short-term fellowship courses in yoga and naturopathy, skills-based wellness courses, and future undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. This comprehensive educational framework further contributes to the Center’s mission to manage non-communicable diseases through the integration of yoga and naturopathy interventions.
In addition to the naturopathic hospital, PM Modi remotely inaugurated a 30-bed Ayush facility at Aundh District Hospital. The initiative is part of Chief Minister Ayushman Bharat’s plan to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the country. Additionally, plans are underway to construct a 100-bed critical care ward on the premises of Aundh District Hospital, the cost of which is estimated at Rs 40.05 billion.
