Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC’s chief medical correspondent and co-host of “GMA3,” is parting ways with the network that has been her home since 2012 and launching a new, women-focused network she founded. I decided to focus all my energy on my wellness company, Agenda.

The physician and media personality began co-hosting GMA3 during the pandemic and recently served as an expert on an ABC special hosted by Oprah Winfrey, discussing obesity and weight loss, including Ozempic and Munjaro. We discussed medicine.

Agenda launched in March as a free, science-backed weekly newsletter covering women’s health, menopause and weight management, with plans to expand to video content in the future.

Dr. Ashton, who is dual board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and obesity medicine and has a degree in nutrition, said she has seen an increase in interest in menopausal health and weight management.

“I think we can all agree that this is an unprecedented time for greater insight, interpretation and analysis in women’s health and weight loss, weight management, nutrition and obesity medicine. ” Dr. Ashton said in a video post. Instagram. These are the areas that I’m certified in, so I want to focus on that and I think there’s a big need. ”

While there is no lack of information, Dr. Ashton pointed to a lack of information. how to use it.

“We literally cover the whole spectrum of women’s health issues, from perimenopause to menopause, skin, fibroids and even fertility issues, but our particular focus is on: “Perimenopause, menopause, and how that relates to weight management, nutrition, and diet,” she said.

Brick-and-mortar centers are also “part of the agenda,” Dr. Ashton said, with construction underway in New York City, Los Angeles and possibly Texas.
