Ryan Cooper will make your morning in 17 minutes.
Did you know that meditation has all kinds of health benefits? In a 2019 study, 153 adults used a meditation app for two weeks. As a result, they felt less lonely and had more social contact. This seems like a pretty good deal in exchange for spending just a little bit of time focusing on yourself. But if you’re new to meditation, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by this seemingly simple skill set. There are many different methods to choose from, and many practitioners and apps that promise to calm your mind. Where on earth should I start?
Luckily, our favorite wellness enthusiast, Ryan Cooper, has made things easy for you. His latest meditation videos are the most beginner-friendly ever. First, it’s short. This session is his 17 minutes, long enough to check yourself, but not so long that you’re intimidated before pressing play.
Secondly, this video has a simple but deep intention. Cooper aims to help you engage with yourself and identify the expectations you unconsciously set on yourself and others. “Expectations fly under our radar,” Cooper said in the video, quoting author Brené Brown. “[They] They wreak havoc on what we hold dear until they are reduced to rubble. ”
“It’s our responsibility to identify the expectations we have,” he continues. “Where does that expectation come from? Why is it there? What does it indicate?” It gives you gentle advice on how to let go of the standards you’ve been trying to hold to. You will end this session with new goals. It’s about trying to let go of those expectations as much as possible so you can focus on your strengths and the positive aspects of your relationships.
Are you feeling better yet? Cooper’s complete program includes more of these health routines alongside high-intensity workouts, nutritional advice, and (depending on your level) one-on-one training. Additionally, he has a deal in place for his Katie Couric Media readers who wish to continue working with him, to receive his 50% discount on packages on his Cooper site just by using the code KCM50.
