“It’s nice to be recognized, especially when you’ve been in the industry for so long and you’re still at the top,” says the co-owner of an anti-aging clinic in Orillia.
Orillia’s anti-aging clinic has been named Ontario’s Botox Clinic of the Year. corporate vision magazine.
Brad and Ben Thiessen, who have owned a clinic in Orillia for 25 years, said they were honored to receive the award.
“We were so excited,” Ben said.
“If you think about Ontario as a whole, I don’t think you’d expect much from a small clinic in Orillia’s win,” Blade added.
While Orillia’s anti-aging clinic takes top honors, Blade and Ben remain low-key.
“We don’t believe in anyone saying they’re the best,” Blade said. “I think everyone is unique and has something different to offer.”
He said winning this award proves that his clinic is among the best in the industry.
“This is definitely a feather in our cap,” Ben said. “It’s nice to be recognized, especially when you’re still at the top after being in the industry this long.”
Blade and Ben credit the award to Dr. Rodney Rand, who has been providing Botox services at the Orillia Clinic for seven years.
“He’s very passionate about this,” Ben said. “He loves nurturing his patients.”
The state’s only vegan anti-aging clinic serves thousands of people from all over the world in downtown Orillia. The clinic has techniques similar to those used by celebrities such as Martha Stewart.
“We have customers from New York,” Blade explained. “People are traveling.”
Blade specializes in microneedling and injury-based devices, and has worked with Michael Jackson’s physician Conrad Murray and trained doctors who have treated Hollywood celebrities, including the Kardashians.
“You’re only as good as your last client,” Ben said. “It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. You’ll be treated the same.”
Mr Blade says his work speaks for itself, which is why the business is busy despite being outside of its major markets.
“Everything I do has to do with aging and skin,” he said. “Because I do my job very rationally, I have quite a good reputation and people come from all over the world.”
The couple, Blade and Ben, grew up in Midland and live and run their business in nearby Orillia, where Blade’s parents owned a marina.
“We refuse to move from Orillia,” Ben said. “Orillia is the perfect location for us.”
Ben said he is proud that Orillia is home to Ontario’s Botox Clinic of the Year.
“It’s a huge blessing for Orillia,” he said. “We love our community.”
Blade and Ben have no plans to retire from the business any time soon. They are more passionate about this now than ever.
“If we retire, women’s pickup trucks will be chasing us,” Blade said with a laugh.
“I don’t think we’ll ever retire. We really never will,” Ben added.
