Scenic City Wellness works to close gaps in health disparities in specific communities.
Michelle Morris, a nurse at Scenic City Wellness, said, “We recognized the disparity in underserved communities and have been talking about closing that gap for several years now. Mental health care is an important part of this program.

Morris says the program is personal to her. She said she lost her family to health problems because she didn’t have insurance.
“As an African American woman, it’s such a shame to see that disparity and not do anything about it. My father died at age 53 from diabetes.”
This program ends at the end of June.
