ALEDO, Ill. (KWQC) – Rhubarb Fest is about more than just delicious pies. It’s his two days of fun in historic downtown Aledo, which was awarded the title of Rhubarb Capital of Illinois by the state Legislature in 2007.

This unique event celebrates all things rhubarb and is held on the first Friday and Saturday of June each year.

Admission is free, and the 2024 festival is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

Thousands of people come for homemade pies (and other unique baked goods, food and drinks), rhubarb samples, free rhubarb seeds, crafts, lots of family-friendly activities, music, entertainment, and more. get together.

Stephanie Godke (known as “Chef Steph”) is the Rhubarb Cooking Chair and advises you to harvest your rhubarb now. And she highlights some creative ways to use the vegetable rhubarb and encourages others interested in the competition to join in.
