ROCKLAND — Coastal Recovery Community Center, Knox Clinic and MaineHealth Community Health Worker Program will host another mindfulness meditation event at CRCC in Rockland. Led by Adi, MaineHealth’s newest community health worker, and in collaboration with the Knox Clinic, this event invites community members on a journey of self-discovery and stillness through the practice of mindfulness.
Scheduled for Friday, May 10th from 2pm to 4pm, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the transformative power of mindful breathing. Mindful breathing is a simple yet powerful meditation technique that has tremendous benefits for your mental health.
“This event, held at 11 White Street in Rockland, promises a rejuvenating experience for all who attend,” Knox Clinic said in a news release.
According to the Knox Clinic, practicing mindful breathing is similar to turning off a water source rather than scooping water out of a cup. By concentrating on breathing, a person naturally regains control over their thoughts and can find peace and stability even in the turbulence of life.
“Participating in mindfulness meditation in a group setting adds a layer of magic to the experience,” the release states. “Shared journeys enhance the benefits of practice, foster a sense of community, and provide opportunities for mutual learning and growth.”
Community members are encouraged to tune in for additional details as the event approaches. The organizations look forward to welcoming participants to this rich experience of self-discovery and collective well-being.
