Fire acupuncture may significantly reduce symptoms and prevent flare-ups in psoriasis patients, suggests a study published in the journal Medicine.
To investigate the clinical effects of fire acupuncture (FA) on plaque psoriasis (PP) and evaluate its appropriate use in order to achieve better therapeutic effects, promote the recovery potential of psoriatic skin lesions, and support clinical treatment. A study was conducted to explore syndrome types. A total of 8 patients with plaque psoriasis, aged 18 to 60 years, were recruited and received fire acupuncture once a week, and their lesion area and severity index (PASI), visual analogue scale, and pruritus scores were 2 and 4. , measured 8 days ago. weeks after treatment and follow-up period (week 12), respectively. Visual analog scale and dermoscopy were used for evaluation. Results: All patients showed improvement in pruritus after one session of fire acupuncture, and lesions decreased to varying degrees after 2 weeks. All other psoriasis patients achieved significant results 8 weeks after treatment, except for patients 5 and 8, who only achieved positive results due to severe disease. Fire acupuncture can significantly control the progression of lesions, reduce the symptoms of plaque psoriasis lesions and pruritus, and help prevent psoriasis recurrence.
