CLEARFIELD – The Agency for Aging and Mature Resource Areas and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture announced that they will continue to distribute Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) applications and checks by mail this year.
Starting April 19, individuals can call 814-765-2691 to receive a 2024 application. The financial benefit is that he gets 5 vouchers worth $10 and he gets $50.
SFMNP’s 2024 goals are to increase the number of seniors receiving benefits and increase check redemption rates across the state.
Clearfield County seniors who are age 60 or older and meet income requirements by Dec. 31 are eligible to receive a $50 voucher to use at the PA Farmers Market.
Each person in the household receiving the voucher must be 60 years of age or older, including the spouse.
SFMNP does not include older adults living in nursing home facilities, convents, or residential facilities where meals are provided.
All Clearfield County residents age 60 and older who meet income guidelines may pick up an application by calling the MRAAA SFMNP phone number at 814-765-2691. Please follow the instructions. An application form will be mailed to you. Fill out the required information and return it in the enclosed envelope to receive the voucher. Please leave only one phone message.
Meal on Wheel consumers will receive an application with their midday meal.
