Twenty-five senior living communities, including several continuing care retirement communities, received the inaugural ICAA NuStep Beacon Awards for “Best in Wellness.”
The Beacon Program is a joint venture between the International Council on Active Aging and NuStep LLC, a manufacturer of recumbent cross trainer exercise equipment used in healthcare, senior living, and fitness settings.
said Jane Bensky, marketing communications specialist at NuStep. “Their recognition of the value and importance of creating a culture where wellness is not an indoor program, but rather a way of life, has had a lasting and positive impact on many lives.”
Among Beacon Award winners, health is defined by seven dimensions: emotional, physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, occupational, and environmental.
The top five communities also received the ICAA NuStep Pinnacle Award for outstanding contributions to wellness. they are:
- Moorings Park, Naples, Florida
- Senior Resource Group: Maravilla in Santa Barbara, California
- Dallas Presbyterian Village North
- John Knox Village, Florida, Pompano Beach, Florida
- Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, Virginia
