MThere’s a lot of excitement around The Terminal at Katy Trail, an architecturally striking mixed-use project that’s been under development in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood since 2019, and it’s interesting to see which tenants will have homes within its walls. It has been theorized how to find it. That anticipation was justified last year when several inventive and unique businesses were unveiled, painting the picture for a custom Dallas building focused on wellness and services for passersby on the Katy Trail. Ta. In a thoughtful mix, O2 Aspen, an upscale yoga and Pilates studio, has opened his second location across Tony Mountain Town.
A fixture in Aspen for nearly 20 years, O2 has become known for its Pilates and hot power yoga classes, as well as its emphasis on great teachers.
“We wanted to have the best instructors in Dallas,” says owner Brittany Van Dommelen. “We’ve spent the last 15 months testing talent with consultants who are very integrated into the yoga scene here. Aspen has the best athletes, but we’re much smaller; , Dallas is really fun.”
In addition to testing instructors, Van Dommelen visited various workout classes during her visit to Dallas and immersed herself in the city’s boutique fitness scene.
“We found out there was a lot of competition here and that inspired us to really step up our game,” van Dommelen added. “We have a lot of interaction between Aspen and Dallas. Our clients are begging us to be here. Texas was always my desired destination, but Dallas was clearly number one. They were ready for us. ”

O2 difference
Dallas is known for having one of the best boutique fitness scenes in the country, but Van Dommelen still believes O2 will stand out.

One differentiating factor may be the studio’s private club-like atmosphere. “We want our staff to know people by name and make sure our customers feel really valued,” says Van Dommelen. “We will go beyond that.”
Space was a key factor in O2’s expansion to Dallas. Van Dommelen was able to execute the entire concept for the brand in his 4,500 square foot space on two floors at The Terminal. This includes a separate studio for innovative Pilates and yoga classes (some studios are heated with infrared panels). A signature facial treatment room in partnership with New York-based Knockout Beauty. There’s also a boutique retail section featuring activewear brands such as Adidas x Stella McCartney, Beyond Yoga and The Upside.

“We look for the best of the best: instructors, therapists, beauty, clothing, etc.,” Van Dommelen says. “Our quality control is what makes us different. And our cleanliness.”
An official opening date for O2 Dallas has yet to be finalized, but similar to Aspen Studios (which has hosted talent like Tracy Anderson), several celebrity instructors have already joined Katy Trail’s The Terminal. We are negotiating to visit.
