Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated a naturopathic hospital in Pune’s Yewalewadi. He also remotely inaugurated a new Ayush language facility at the district hospital in Aundh.
The 250-bed hospital in Yewarewadi includes an academic hospital, a research unit yoga hall, and residential and hostel buildings. According to a press release issued by the National Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, the facility is a premier yoga and naturopathy laboratory dedicated to the development of evidence-based yoga and naturopathy treatments for several non-communicable diseases. He says he is dedicated to it.
The center promotes a holistic approach that can address modifiable risk factors for these diseases through yoga and natural therapies, thereby reducing the risk factors associated with these diseases.
In the future, the center plans to conduct short-term fellowship courses in yoga and naturopathy, skill-based courses in wellness, UG, PG and doctoral courses. The center will address the management of non-communicable diseases using yoga and naturopathy interventions.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a 30-bed Ayush facility at Aundh District Hospital. Under Chief Minister Ayushman Bharat’s plan, a 100-bed critical care ward will be built on the premises of Aundh District Hospital. The groundbreaking ceremony (bhoomi pujan) for the same was also performed remotely by Prime Minister Modi.
The total cost of the Ayush facility in Aundh will be Rs 8,990 crore, while the estimated cost of the critical care facility will be Rs 4,005 crore.
