Wildcat Wellness will be held at 1313 Jamrich on Thursday, April 18th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wildcat Wellness is a collaborative event sponsored by Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE), NMU WellBeing, LIVE@NMU, and Mind Your Health.
The event will feature three speakers who will share their personal stories about mental health and wellbeing, as well as ways to improve and cope with mental health. The event will also feature prizes and Wildpups.
Wildcat Wellness began in 2021 when Clayton Feyer, a fourth-year NMU student and TKE historian, saw a need for this type of event at NMU.
“I want people to join the movement to let others know they are not alone,” Feyer said.

Feyer said this year’s event has grown from past events as part of a collaboration with many student organizations and campus departments.
This year’s speakers are Brianna Meche and Charlie Whistler. TKE President Vissler will share his personal experience with mental health and how TKE is involved in improving the mental health of his NMU.
“Being able to connect students and talk to each other about mental health issues is really helpful,” Feyer said.
Feyer explained that the planning process for Wildcat Wellness began in the fall of 2023, giving plenty of time for the event to become what it is today. He added that this could not have been accomplished without the support of various people, organizations and departments across campus.
“I’m really excited to finally have this event. There’s been a lot of planning, discussion and meetings,” Feyer said.
Although this is Feyer’s last semester at NMU, he hopes this event will become a tradition that continues to promote mental health among NMU students.
“It definitely made me believe that I could make an impact in the community, especially on the NMU campus,” Feyer said.
Free merchandise from Mind Your Health and LIVE@NMU will be available at the event. When a student participates he will receive 2 Skill Builder Credits and he can also receive an additional raffle ticket when he registers below. hub before the event.
