An acupuncturist practicing in Matawan, New Jersey, has been accused of sexually assaulting a patient, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Dr. Jen K. Quan, 57, of Matawan, was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, officials announced.
Prosecutors announced on Jan. 25 that the Matawan Police Department received a report of a sexual assault of a woman who recently had an acupuncture appointment with Mr. Quan at Prosperity Health Center, 952 State Route 34.
Officials said after an investigation, the Matawan Police Department arrested Quan without incident on Feb. 1.
Quan is currently being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility pending his first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court on February 7, according to prosecutors.
