Brittany Lutz on spiritual maturity: ‘I want Jesus to lead my life’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Brittany Lynn Lutz, wife of Twilight actor Kellan Lutz, reflects on spiritual maturity and how to experience emotions with Jesus’ help.

“Lately, I’ve found myself torn between sadness and gratitude,” she wrote in a recent Instagram caption. “That small space where you give yourself permission to grieve the things that were, the things that have happened, the things that haven’t happened, the things that haven’t happened yet, the expectations that weren’t met, the life that you imagined you would never get to live. On the one hand, I choose to push forward with gratitude for what I have. Because there is so much to be grateful for.”

Lutz explained that processing the emotions that come with grief is “difficult,” but noted that the phrase “emotions are great consultants and terrible CEOs” has helped her.

“Feelings matter. They have their place,” she continued. “They give us insight into people and situations. They are there to protect us. God created emotions. But they don’t see the big picture. They should never be in the driver’s seat. If we leave them behind the wheel for too long, our emotions will never get us anywhere.”

Lutz says, “A big part of maturing spiritually in this season is taking those feelings, those real emotions, and not jumping headfirst in without boundaries and enjoying them, but rather laying them at the feet of Jesus.” Bring it on, I process it, I heal it, and I move forward because He is the only one who can see the whole picture. I want you to guide my life, not my emotions and feelings, which have a bad habit of lying to me.”

Lutz frequently shares messages of encouragement and reflections on her life through social media. Her recent post centered around the importance of waiting to find the right person to spend your life with.

“I know the weight of waiting can be overwhelming at times, but please stay true,” she wrote. “Keep working on yourself. Heal. Draw closer to Jesus. Get to know yourself. Don’t wait to start living. Live now. You are complete and completely worthy on your own.” , adorable and incredibly present.”

Lutz and her husband Kellan have two children, Ashtyn, 2, and Kasen, 1.

In a recent interview, Kellan called this period of his life “pretty, pretty amazing.”

“Having a son and a daughter, I’m a big fan of not being left behind, because kids need parents and they need love,” the actor explained. “And I know I didn’t get a lot of attention because I grew up in a big family. I want my kids to feel like they have a mom and dad.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the couple’s dedication to parenthood:

Twilight star Kellan Lutz is opening up about his family’s decision to leave Hollywood and move to Nashville.

“We’re doing it for the kids,” he says. Said Fox News.

Lutz and his wife, Brittany, have a daughter, Ashtyn, 2, and a son, Kasen, 1.

“With the current state of the industry, I can work and live anywhere and then just get on a plane to shoot a movie. And at least my wife has a support system when I’m gone. I have it here,” the actor continued.

With Brittany’s large family living in the area, Lutz remembers the time she spent with her family.

The DUE JUSTICE star spoke further about his decision to move to Nashville in an interview with UPI.

“I’m very family-oriented, and I want my daughter to have some great memories with her family, especially the older ones, while she’s still alive,” Lutz said.

As for potentially missing out on opportunities by not being based in L.A., Lutz says, “I’m always going to work and God will provide.” Said. “And he did.”
