Peerfest supports people facing mental health issues.
Events taking place this week in Grapevine celebrate Texans facing mental health challenges and continuing their journeys to wellness.
Peerfest is a four-day event focused on self-care and wellness, rather than the education and networking focus that traditional conferences tend to have. To accommodate participants’ varying body clocks, programming will run from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“Texas has a vibrant community of people who use their personal recovery journeys to advocate for broader change in mental health. PeerFest is a place where people can join this community, feel challenged and inspired. “It’s an unmissable opportunity to celebrate and inject that energy into your future life. The Hogg Foundation is proud to be a part of this unique event,” said Hogg Foundation Communications, a major funder of Peerfest. Manager Ike Evans said.
Peerfest was founded in 2015 with a vision of a place in Texas that supports people facing mental health challenges so they can live their best lives.
It was designed, budgeted, written, implemented, and executed by Texans with lived experience with mental health.
On-site applications will be accepted until April 18th (Thursday), the last day of the event.
