ECONOMYNEXT – Kaushali Kusumapala has been appointed Country Director for Sri Lanka and Maldives, making her the first woman to hold the position, the company announced.
“In this position, Kaushali will work closely with the Sri Lankan and Maldives bottling teams, customers, partners, consumers and external stakeholders,” the company said.
Kusumapala said they will work with bottling partners Coca-Cola Beverage Sri Lanka Ltd., Male Aerated Water Company and other stakeholders.
“Coca-Cola has held a special place in my heart over the past few years, both as a consumer and as a marketer, and I am deeply committed to taking our beloved brand and franchise business to even greater heights.” she said in a statement.
She takes over from Pankaj Sinha, who served as country director in 2019.
“The Coca-Cola Company is firmly committed to building a sustainable business in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and Kaushali will play a key role in moving the needle,” said Franchise Operations, Southwest Asia (SWA) Vice President Ajay Vijay Bhatija said. .
Kaushali graduated from the University of Melbourne, where she earned a Bachelor of Commerce. She won the Slim Brand Excellence Award and her Local Brand of the Year and her CSR Brand of the Year at the SLIM Kantar People’s Awards.
Coca-Cola has been present in Sri Lanka since 1961 and has a network of over 80,000 retail stores and a direct workforce of over 400 employees. (Colombo/April 15, 2024)
