AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) – A renovated clinic in Auburn offers care for both the body and the mind.
On Thursday, Bowen Health Clinic introduced integrated care to its facility at 923 Cardinal Center, combining physical and mental health care with addiction recovery services.
“The truth is that the physical health of people with mental illness is often neglected,” said Dr. Robert Ryan, president and CEO of the Bowen Center, in a press release. Ta. “We often see people who have lived with mental illness die young, but it could have been completely prevented if they had taken care of their physical health. We aim to change this and are proud to now offer primary health care in addition to mental health care and addiction recovery services at all of our locations. That’s what we call integrative medicine. And we’re making a difference.”
The nonprofit Bowen Center began integrating services in 2020 at locations throughout Northeast Indiana.
“There’s also the convenience of being able to handle everything at once,” Ryan added in an interview with WANE 15.
The public can tour the facility on Thursday.
Bowen said no one will be turned away from the clinic because they can’t afford to pay.
According to the website, clinic hours are Mondays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To make a reservation, please call (800) 342-5653 at the number listed in the press release. For more information, please visit Bowen’s website.
