Last week, we introduced you to Torrance Brown and Regina Hayes, a Massachusetts woman and her trainers who are determined to put one of the hottest social media fitness trends to the test.
It’s hard to miss a 28-day wall Pilates challenge on TikTok or Instagram, but does it work?
Not everyone is willing to take on this challenge in public, but Brown is not one to shy away from a challenge. She is a mother, a breast cancer survivor, and has five championship rings from the women’s professional football team, the Boston Renegades. So, she was looking for someone to help her with the Pilates challenge to see if she could really flatten her abs and eliminate belly fat in just a month, and she took measurements. She was more than just a match, including her value.

“I believe in measurements,” she said. “I believe in the picture on the scale because the scale represents your whole body and fat and lean muscle mass can change. That scale doesn’t tell the whole story.”
Once all your measurements and records are complete, it’s time to get to work. Brown set up the Better Me app on her iPhone. This is the Pilates challenge we are testing.
She did her first customized workout, watching a screen and mirroring her movements while Hayes at the Parkway Community YMCA in West Roxbury monitored her form.
“This is harder than doing crunches on the floor!” exclaimed Brown, planting his feet firmly on the wall.
About 15 minutes later, her first workout was on schedule, and Brown said she was feeling good, except for one knee that caused some trouble.
Since that first workout, Brown has been doing wall Pilates workouts every day, and she and Hayes have been taking measurements.
