Patients can visit capitolpharmacy.com to see a list of doctors actively recommending medical cannabis in their area. Many offer telemedicine, allowing patients to see their doctors from their smartphones. Recommendations are faxed or electronically written by the prescriber directly to Capitol Wellness Solutions, and patients receive a text when the recommendation is received.
Upon a physician’s recommendation, Louisiana law allows pharmacists to work with patients to determine the appropriate product and dosage. It is common for a patient to sample three to five different products before finding the ideal symptom relief. “Pharmacists are constantly managing your treatment plan to ensure you get the most effective medicines,” Mia says.
