Speaking to a crowd of 900 people at the Vitamin Shoppe Summit in Grapevine, Texas, last week, Wright credited his weight loss success to his colleagues.
“Since becoming a full-time CEO, I’ve lost about 30 pounds, all thanks to your education and inspiration. And the great news is that I’ve gained muscle mass.” [than] “It’s happened to me too for the first time in 20 years. I still have my dad’s body type, but it’s much closer to that of a young father,” he said.
In an interview with NutraIngredients-USA at the summit, an event he describes as “the Super Bowl of education for health enthusiasts,” Wright spoke about his health journey and company vision as he marks his first anniversary as CEO. Told.
“Our motto of lifelong health starts here, and I really took that to heart,” he said. “I realized that lifelong health needed to start with me here, too. And I did. I wanted to make sure I led by example and led by example. but they are [the Health Enthusiasts] inspired me. And they educated me as I visited stores, met health enthusiasts, and asked lots of questions about the products.
“I’ve actually been able to create what I consider to be a basic supplement stack to help me with my life. It’s helped me personally with things like weight loss, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, etc. It’s been a complete change. It’s all about building muscle in a healthy way. So, thanks to the health enthusiasts at The Vitamin Shoppe who have truly inspired me, educated me, and motivated me every day, I’ve made a complete change. I was able to accomplish it.”
Although Wright’s weight loss journey did not include GLP-1 agonists, the company wants to support those who choose that path.
“We’re really working on some important trends that we think are really the upcoming trends, whether GLP-1 drugs provide solutions for people who have chosen pharmaceutical options for weight loss. “There are appropriate needs for protein, digestive health, and other adverse effects of taking GLP1 drugs,” he explained.
During the summit, Muriel Gonzalez, president of The Vitamin Shoppe, previewed several additional trends that she said will be outlined in more detail in a report expected to be released later this spring.
