Solar eclipse recipes/ideas
I don’t think these are recipes at all. These are simple ideas that are easy to put into practice.
lemon blackberry tartlet
I like this simple idea from evaminette.net/lemon-blackberry-tartlets-solar-eclipse. Make it or buy it! – Top with lemon tartlets and blackberries. The berry looks like a moon, and the bright yellow of the lemon filling creates a sunny circle around it.

I found lemon tartlets at Reasor’s. It may not look exactly like a solar eclipse, but you get the idea…
Lemon – topped with Oreos
You can take inspiration from the donut above and put Oreos on top of any yellow treat. For example, lemon frosted cupcakes, lemon sugar cookies, or slices of lemon frosted sheet cake. So easy!
healthier options
Place blackberries or blueberries on top of banana slices for a healthy eclipse snack. You can also buy or make some fancy solar eclipse toothpicks.
eclipse pancake
During the 2017 solar eclipse, Denny’s offered all-you-can-eat “mooncakes” for $4. (Thanks, Google!) These were just mini pancakes called mooncakes. You can do something similar, or you can do something a little more creative. (Optional) Add yellow food coloring to the batter and place a circle of Nutella or blackberries on top of each pancake. Looks pretty good!
Side note: I love pancakes because they are so versatile for holiday celebrations. Easy to decorate the surface and pairs well with a variety of flavors.
What is a solar eclipse?
Joss and I will be watching the eclipse from Exploration Place in Wichita. I posted a nice video that visually explains the solar eclipse in an easy-to-understand manner. The video ends with a section on solar eclipse safety and how to build a solar eclipse viewing box.

Tulsa solar eclipse event
TulsaKids has a list of where you can view the solar eclipse in Tulsa. Like Guthrie Greene and Discovery Lab, the library hosts several events: tulsakids.com/where-to-celebrate-the-solar-eclipse-in-tulsa/
