Purely Rooted provides healthy options for locals

We face health challenges every week. Some of them are disguised as small, inconspicuous things that we cannot see.

Whether it’s stress, overeating, lack of exercise, refusing to cook, or not having enough time, challenges are always hitting us and we may not know where to turn.

But luckily there are experts who can help us.

Mary Kate Fuller is a certified nutritionist, nutritionist, certified nutrition specialist, and owner of Purely Rooted Nutrition and Wellness.

“Purely Roots Nutrition and Wellness is a comprehensive clinical nutrition and holistic wellness center staffed by three functional nutritionists and a registered nurse specializing in holistic nutrition and reflexology. We have a team of practitioners.” Mr. Fuller provided the information.

“We work with our clients to discover the deep-rooted reasons behind their symptoms and illnesses, and use food first and foremost as medicine, supplements where appropriate, and stress management techniques to help prevent and prevent We build a personalized plan to support healing from the source.”

Fuller added that everyone has their own way of developing healthier lifestyle habits, but her team focuses on learning about each client.

“We believe that there is no plan that works for everyone because every person is unique. We provide detailed symptom analysis, nutritionally focused physical exams, and functional We use testing to detect areas that need more attention, love, and support. This ranges from nutrient deficiencies and energy production to detoxification, gut health, and hormonal balance.” Fuller explained.

“We spend a full hour and a half in our first session with a client discussing their symptoms and medical history, and reviewing the results. This time is used to build a personalized plan based on the individual’s needs. Each client sets out with a plan for an achievable first step on their healing journey.”

A common trend that contributes to someone’s health in our area is how busy they are with their schedule each day.

“Unfortunately, life gets busy. People work, raise families, run errands, and we don’t prioritize the very things that keep us happy and healthy. People is exhausted and skips meals or grabs “survival food,” or what I call “fight-or-flight food,” before hitting the road again. There is no built-in time for eating nutritious meals, optimally digesting food, or getting enough sleep. But in order to function, fight disease, balance hormones, support overall gut health, maintain a healthy and balanced mood, and optimize brain and cognitive health, we use They need real nourishment. We need to get back to basics and we can help you get there. ” Fuller pointed out.

Even losing weight is important for many people, but an even more important goal may be finding a more balanced life and ultimately losing a few pounds.

“Our clients have a variety of goals, but a very common one is weight loss. However, weight gain or resistance to weight loss has many different root causes. It’s more than just reducing your calorie intake. It’s what you’re eating, how you’re eating, and when you’re eating. It’s nutritional deficiencies, thyroid imbalances, blood sugar imbalances, high stress, lack of sleep, hormonal imbalances. It’s about imbalances, poor digestion and gut health, food sensitivities, chronic inflammation, and/or poor detoxification.” Fuller is highlighted.

 “At the end of the day, if your life is balanced and your body feels ‘loved’ or nourished, you’ll naturally lose weight. Your body is in a fight-or-flight state. , when you’re stressed and depleted of nutrients, your body won’t feel safe leaving the weight alone, so it will continue to hold on to it. Importantly, losing weight is not the goal. It is a natural result of balancing and nourishing the body. We work with clients to find the reasons behind their weight loss resistance and support that balance.”

Energy drinks have become entrenched in our society because their commercials make them look cool and full of positive results. However, these drinks pose many health risks.

Energy drinks contain many toxic ingredients and I never recommend them. Ingredients that have been shown to cause attention deficit disorder, dehydration, anxiety, irregular heartbeats, and insomnia.

“First, if your energy is low, consider why. Nutrients such as magnesium and B vitamins are essential for energy metabolism. Are you getting enough in your diet? Are you getting enough sleep? Aim for 7 to 9 hours each night. Are you hydrated? Balance your blood sugar levels by eating healthy fats, high-quality protein, and high-fiber carbohydrates (fruits, vegetables) at every meal. Are you eating too many low-fiber carbohydrates (bread, pasta) at once or skipping meals, both of which can cause blood sugar imbalances? Your energy and mood will be on a roller coaster ride.

“Second, there are better options. Consider electrolyte drinks such as coconut water (Trader Joe’s has some delicious ones) or electrolyte powders such as LMNT. Drink half your body weight (in ounces) every day. Stay hydrated. Try organic green tea, which not only naturally contains caffeine, but also theanine, which calms the brain and body. Or drink Himalayan tea in water with lemon or lime juice. Make your own electrolyte drink by adding a pinch of sea salt or Celtic sea salt.” Mr. Fuller said.

Candy, ice cream, donuts, and cake remain a joy that cannot be ignored, and sweet foods continue to take the country by storm.

Fuller added that while there are reasons behind our love of sweets, there are healthy options for some of us.

“There are reasons for sugar cravings, from gut microbiome imbalances and blood sugar imbalances to nutrient deficiencies and stress. For example, a desire to eat chocolate may actually be due to more magnesium.” If you’re really having a hard time giving up soda, candy, and pastries, try a mix of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and dark chocolate nibs.The nutrients in this mix are: , it can help calm your appetite and boost your nutrition at the same time. Dark chocolate in general isn’t actually all that bad for you; it’s rich in magnesium and healthy fats. Eat it right away. Keep it in the freezer so it doesn’t go away. If you can aim to have one or two squares of dark chocolate (75% or higher) for dessert, it’s a better option than candy or ice cream. With Almonds Dark chocolate is even more delicious.

“As it turns out, when you’re craving sugar, you may actually just need more protein. So when your craving hits, try grass-fed turkey or beef jerky first, See how it feels. The more healthy fats and protein sources you consume, the less you’ll crave sugar.” Mr. Fuller said.

Is there a “quick fix” for smaller waste lines?

“It’s never too early to maintain healthy weight loss. A good goal is 1 to 2 pounds per week. However, there are some tips to get you started.

Make sure to eat three meals a day and avoid snacking.

Each meal should contain high-quality protein, healthy fats, and high fiber sources.

Drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day (150 pounds = 75 ounces).

Stop eating 3 hours before bedtime.

Make breakfast your biggest meal.

When you eat, take your time and chew, chew, chew.

Add lemon or lime juice to water before meals to aid digestion.

If possible, try to take a short walk after meals.

Make time to get at least 7 hours of sleep by putting your phone on airplane mode an hour before bedtime. We lose the most weight while we sleep.

Finally, to break old habits, people need to be willing to change. Sometimes our bodies need a reboot.

“If you want to see change, you have to make the change. The biggest change in your overall health is eating breakfast. Even if you don’t have an appetite, try this small change. Sometimes , we need to control our bodies and retrain them to what they need. We need to eat a lot of protein, but we don’t need to eat large meals to begin with. 2 boiled eggs and 2 avocado slices pieces. Skyr or coconut-based yogurt with berries, pumpkin seeds, and cinnamon. 2 slices of turkey bacon. You’ll feel so much better.

“I believe in the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time, I fuel my body with good nutrition, get plenty of exercise, and get 7-9 hours of quality sleep. 20% of the time, you’ll enjoy dinner with friends or loved ones, drink wine, and nibble on some danpai. Stay balanced and don’t sabotage yourself. You and only you are the ultimate in your health. Don’t forget that you have the power to

It’s a way to listen to your body, be attentive to your needs, and intentionally nourish your body and mind every day,” Fuller explained.
