- Find a quiet place where you can sit up straight and comfortably, such as the edge of your bed, the floor, or a chair.
- Close your eyes and focus on your breathing or another focal point to be fully present.
- Relax your body by loosening your shoulders, loosening your jaw, and softening your eyebrows.
Mindful meditation to find joy
If you happen to come across this meditation, I believe you will be able to feel joy in this moment. If you’re not feeling your best today, that’s perfectly okay and normal. When you’re feeling down, you may want to change your mind and start your day with more energy. But research shows that loving and extending kindness to others, even if you’re in a place where it’s not possible, can do wonders for your own mental health. Masu.
You don’t even necessarily have to perform an act of generosity if you don’t feel like doing so. Simply wishing others well has been shown to reduce anxiety, increase happiness, and increase feelings of empathy and connection.
