PUNE: A 27-year-old Ayurveda practitioner who wanted to pursue a master’s degree was duped out of Rs 19.75 lakh by three men with the promise of guaranteeing admission to a private university in Pimpri-Chinchwad. The woman handed money to the three people. She enrolled in the school in January last year, but did not receive the promised admission and did not get her money back. The victim approached Chikhali police on Wednesday to file a complaint. Chikhali police sub-inspector Ajit Kakade said, “The complainant said that when she first came in contact with the two men, they assured her that they would secure her woman.” She earned her seat in the management slot. The woman also introduced her to a third accomplice who posed as an employee of the university management. The woman began pursuing the three for money after giving them the funds but not being admitted to the university. They gave her a check, but it was bounced. “After waiting for over a year, she filed a complaint against the trio,” Kakade said, adding, “We have confirmed the identities of the trio. We are working on several leads. ”
