Nestlé has launched the Petivity Microbiome Analysis Kit to provide tailored nutritional and supplement recommendations for dogs and cats based on their unique gut profile.
This new analysis kit, available in the US, reveals important gut health and nutritional information by analyzing the bacteria present in the gut through science-based pet microbiome sequencing technology. Pet owners submit a small stool sample of their pet to Purina Laboratories and receive a report showing the state of their pet’s microbiome profile and information about their pet’s gut health. The report can be shared with your veterinarian and will highlight potential pathogens, unusual bacteria, and if numbers are outside normal ranges.
Using state-of-the-art sequencing technology, we analyze the bacterial communities present in your gut, providing information on bacterial diversity, which is a marker of digestive health. This report includes customized nutritional and supplement recommendations to actively support gut health and optimize the gut microbiome based on your pet’s unique profile.
