Students of Gandhi Institute of Studies and Research were awarded degrees at the 13th Gandhi Degree Conferment Ceremony.th The convocation ceremony was held at the Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai on Saturday.
Approximately 60 students who completed the Postgraduate Diploma and Diploma in Yoga between 2022 and 2023 were awarded degrees.
Mr. J. Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University, who delivered the chief guest address, emphasized the importance of yoga and natural therapy in people’s daily lives.
Professor Kumar expressed the need for moral education subjects in schools by saying: “Many schools have completely removed this subject from their curriculum without any reason. This subject should be revived in schools to inculcate moral values in students.”
He highlighted recent developments in modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in almost all fields, including the arts. “They are being developed and used at such a rate that about 40% to 50% of the population could be put out of work,” he added.

“Work is underway to introduce a natural medicine course in the institute. Once introduced, this course will help many people who want to study natural medicine,” said KR, director general of Gandhi Memorial Museum. Nanda Rao said.
He added that people’s interest these days is more towards natural living, so courses related to it will help fulfill their interests.
