Start
- Find a quiet place where you can sit up straight and comfortably, such as the edge of your bed, the floor, or a chair.
- Close your eyes and focus on your breathing or another focal point to be fully present.
- Relax your body by loosening your shoulders, loosening your jaw, and softening your eyebrows.
Mindful meditation to just do it and know that you’re doing it
Most of the time, we look ahead and go about our daily lives. We fantasize about owning a home, make travel arrangements for a change of pace, and plan weekends.
While so much of our attention is focused on the future, we forget to notice the simple joys of the here and now. Even if we do not experience such small victories, we can realize that it is our birthright to be alive and healthy. Freedom is in every moment, not just on holidays or high-feeling days.
So whether you’re working in the office all day, running errands, going to class, cleaning the garden, or whatever your day is, for some ordinary magic. Make time and space for.
