Start
- Find a quiet place where you can sit up straight and comfortably, such as the edge of your bed, the floor, or a chair.
- Close your eyes and focus on your breathing or another focal point to be fully present.
- Relax your body by loosening your shoulders, loosening your jaw, and softening your eyebrows.
Mindful meditation to tackle relationship goals
It’s not selfish to want our relationship to be even better, even if things seem drama-free and good enough as is. But if we don’t take a hard look at ourselves and are willing to put in the effort, how can we achieve our relationship goals? Maybe you’ll be less reactive when faced with conflict with your partner, or more vulnerable with your friends so you can break down new walls together.
Think about the goals you want to set for yourself and try to imagine yourself with those qualities in a few months, or even years. Do you feel calm? joy? relaxation? So ask yourself what steps you can take to move in that direction.
