It was exactly one year ago that Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy released an alarming report on the state of mental health in the United States.
As reported by Way.com, Murthy called attention to the fact that more than 50% of the population suffers from loneliness and lack of connection, and emphasized the importance of community and friendship. A crisis that harms the health of individuals and society. Our relationships are hidden sources of healing and happiness that help us live healthier, more fulfilling, and more productive lives. Given the significant health impacts of loneliness and isolation, we prioritize building social connections in the same way we prioritize other critical public health issues such as tobacco, obesity, and substance use disorders. Must be. ”
The report went on to say that mental health is a major cause of heart disease, stroke and dementia. In a recent conversation with Bill Maher, Katie Couric put the one in question in perspective. “Social media has replaced social circles.” So how do we put the genie back in the bottle, or can we, in a world where cyber connectivity has replaced real-world interaction? Shari Alice, bestselling author of Love Yourself Happy: A Journey Back to You, will tackle this issue in her upcoming travel show, connecting with people around the world. It was actually the Surgeon General’s report that inspired her next series.

“When I feel fully aligned, I enjoy every day,” Aries explained. “There will be some hard days, but when you have a center to lean on, it’s joy. It’s all about self-love and positive talk. We’re all on autopilot, so every hour we say, I set an alarm on my phone that says “Connection time”. This is the moment when you realize exactly what you were thinking. A lot has changed for me since I started changing that narrative. At the end of the day, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and do what you see. ”
