Brandon Myles May claims strangers often tell him he looks like a teenager, despite being 35 and running a medical communications business.
A 35-year-old man cited anti-aging as the secret to looking young. Brandon Miles May says strangers often tell him he looks like a teenager.
The “baby-faced” entrepreneur claims to wear sunscreen every day, cover up when she goes out, has never drunk a drop of alcohol in her life, and has included fresh fruit, plant-based foods and fish in her diet, which she says makes her feel as young as she did 10 years ago.
He said: “I think not drinking alcohol contributes to my youthful appearance. I really do embody youth. I think that helps.”
“I think I’m young, and I see it that way. I’ve been avoiding the sun my whole life. I wear hoodies and physically cover the backs of my hands to block the sun.”
Brandon has been taking care of his skin and striving to maintain a healthy lifestyle since he was 13. “When I go through security at the airport, they ask me how old I am. They do a double take,” said the social media content creator from Detroit, Michigan, US.
“Everyone has different ideas of how old I am, but I’m probably 15, 16 or maybe 18-19. I’ve never had plastic surgery. What I do is very simple but effective.”
Brandon, who also runs a medical communications business, has always loved healthy food and began changing his diet at age 15, incorporating green tea and plant-based foods.
He gave up sugar, grains and carbohydrates at age 19 and now eats more organic foods and low-mercury fish. He adds: “At 13, I was already starting to think about longevity and anti-aging. I was really into nutrition and keeping my body young.”
Brandon also believes that exercise is important, but he avoids “intense” exercise so as not to strain his body. “I don’t do intense exercise. Too much exercise can strain your body and cause aging. I try to do moderate, gentle exercise like walking, yoga, and strength training,” he says.
Although he’s “investing” time in himself, Brandon stresses that his lifestyle isn’t about living forever – instead, it’s focused on staying healthy for as long as possible.
He added: “I want to feel good. Feeling young is part of looking young. Living forever is not my priority. Staying healthy is.”
“I think I look better than I did 10 years ago. I feel younger both physically and mentally. I believe the body follows the mind.”
Brandon says strangers assume his lifestyle must be “exhausting,” but he says it’s easy to implement – and he still enjoys treats like chocolate.
He added: “I eat chocolate every day. I use the kind with a cocoa content of 92% to 100%. It’s very bitter. I’m quite versatile. If I go out to dinner I’ll have bread and olive oil.”
