Start
- Find a quiet place where you can sit up straight and comfortably, such as the edge of your bed, the floor, or a chair.
- Close your eyes and focus on your breathing or another focal point to be fully present.
- Relax your body by loosening your shoulders, loosening your jaw, and softening your eyebrows.
Mindful meditation to find your most energetic breath
When we think of meditation, we generally think of it as a calming practice. It is associated with stress relief, feeling more at ease, and evoking a sense of relaxation and mindfulness. And while it certainly fosters a feeling of cozy modesty, it can also boost your energy, even if it doesn’t feel like you’re doing much work at the moment.
The secret is diaphragmatic breathing, also known as abdominal breathing or abdominal breathing. When you breathe in deeply, the amount of oxygen your body receives is taken up by your blood cells, creating the energy they need to keep your blood flowing. Get a healthy sense of chill and alertness through this diaphragmatic breathing meditation.
