Mindful meditations to help you choose self-love
It is often said that in order to love others, you must first love yourself. But what exactly does it look like? What does it mean to love yourself? And how do we know if we have reached that level of self-compassion? This meditation aims to explore all these questions and more.
As mentioned in the video, think about how you feel when you see your child, your best friend, or even your elders. You instinctively know in your heart that they deserve safety, nurturing, and love. Now, let’s practice directing those values toward ourselves. You can think to yourself or say out loud: I am worthy and capable of love. I am worthy and capable of love. I am worthy and capable of love. I am worthy and capable of love. I am worthy and capable of love.
Remember, there is no right or wrong way to feel about this. Notice the sensations that arise in you and sit with these words for as long as you need. It’s okay if you feel uncomfortable. Please know that you can always return to this place of love and worth.
