Noida: The sale of 14 Ayurvedic medicines manufactured by Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited has been banned by the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration.
The Supreme Court on July 9 directed Patanjali Ayurveda, founded by yoga guru Ramdev, to file an affidavit stating whether it had withdrawn advertisements for 14 products whose manufacturing licences were initially suspended but later reinstated.
On April 15, the Uttarakhand state licensing authority issued an order suspending the manufacturing licences of 14 products held by Patanjali Ayurved and Divya Pharmacy.
According to officials, the district Ayurveda Unani officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar issued the directive on Friday banning 14 types of products.
The step follows orders from Uttarakhand’s state drug licensing authority, Ayurveda Unani Services, they said.
According to information shared by the district information office, all doctors and medicine outlets operating in the district have been informed to immediately stop selling the 14 products mentioned in the list.
The products listed include Swasari Gold, Swasari Vati, Bronchom, Swasari Pravahi, Swasari Avaleh, Mukta Vati Extra Power, Lipidum, Madhu Grit, BP Grit, Madhunashini Vati Extra Power, Livamrit Advance, Livogrit, Eyegrit Gold and Patanjali Drishti Eye Drops.
“As per the order of the Ayurveda Unani Services State Drug Licensing Authority, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, the manufacturing licences of Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited for 14 medicines in the attached list have been cancelled,” said Dr Dharmendra Kumar Khem, Regional Ayurveda Unani Officer, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
“In accordance with the above orders, all drug dealers/medicine shops working in the district are hereby informed that sale of medicines mentioned in the attached list is banned with immediate effect. If anyone is found buying or selling the above mentioned medicines, action will be taken as per rules,” Khem added in his order.
